Elephant Six Recommendations

Elephant Six began when Robert Schneider, Jeff Mangum, Will Cullen Hart, and Bill Doss became close friends in the 1980s. They played in each other's noise-punk groups and home-recorded for each other, scrawling the words "Elephant Six" on their tapes. This loose collection of like-minded, postpunk, lo-fi musical friends still play and work together in Schneider's Denver-based Apples in Stereo, Mangum's North Carolina-based Neutral Milk Hotel, and Hart and Doss's Athens, Georgia-based Olivia Tremor Control.
